Xenadrine
Xenadrine or Xenadrine EFX is a diet pill that is extra strength and is touted as having “thermogenic power for a metabolism life.” Xenadrine used to contain the ingredient ephedra until the FDA banned ephedra because it was found to be harmful to those who took it for weight loss purposes. It is important to know that diet pills, whether they be Xenadrine, Xenadrine EFX or Xenadrine RFA-1 do not undergo the same rigorous trials that prescription drugs must undergo as well as over-the-counter forms of medication. The FDA does not have to approve of a particular diet pill before it is placed on drug store shelves or grocery shelves but if diet pills are shown to be of danger to the public then the FDA does have the authority to pull them off shelves. |

The main ingredient that replaced ephedrine and ephedra in Xenadrine is Hoodia gordonii. It is important to note however that Xenadrine contains a few ingredients that have not been thoroughly researched and therefore their effects on health are not known. Some people are of the opinion that Xenadrine is not beneficial for weight loss purposes whatsoever. If you were to take a look at a Xenadrine EFX message board you would soon discover that these diet pills contain a mineral known as chromium that is not harmful to the body unless it is taken in large enough quantities. If this happens then the kidneys can be adversely affected. Chromium has shown to be somewhat helpful when it comes to the regulation of sugar in the body but whether or not it helps pounds to melt away has not been conclusively proven. The thermogenic power of Xenadrine and Xenadrine EFX comes from green tea extract, which happens to contain large amounts of caffeine, and since caffeine is a diuretic this can help to encourage weight loss. The down sided unfortunately is that a diuretic can also causes too rapid a loss of water which can lead to dehydration, which can be serious and even life threatening if left unchecked.
Xenadrine by Cytodine Technologies has its share of potential side effects, as does Xenadrine EFX as well. The throat or esophagus can swell or become blocked which could lead to a choking reflex if Xenadrine is not taken with enough water. Nauseas, vomiting, chest pain and a difficulty in either breathing or swallowing can be dangerous sided effects of taking Xenadrine. If any of these conditions happen to you after taking Xenadrine then seek medical help without delay. The fat blocker element of Xenadrine contains shellfish extract so if you are allergic to shellfish avoid this type of diet aid all together. Also if you are sensitive to caffeine then take Xenadrine with caution. Finally if you are presently taking an anticoagulant to thin your blood then avoid Xenadrine as it will only do you harm. |
