Raw Food Diet
The raw food diet, also known as raw foodism is defined as a “movement promoting consumption of uncooked and unprocessed, and often organic foods, as a large percentage of the diet.” A diet of raw food is full of foods that have not been heated above a particular temperature. The highest temperature allowed varies from 92degrees Fahrenheit to 118 degrees Fahrenheit (which is 33 degrees Celsius to 48 degrees Celsius). A raw food diet recipe could include such foods as raw fruits, raw vegetables, raw seeds, raw nuts, raw fish, raw meat and unpasteurized dairy products, which include cheese, yogurt and raw milk. Some people choose raw food as a weight loss measure while others change to a raw food diet in the hope that it is a more natural and therefore healthier form of eating. Many dog lovers choose to feed the raw food diet to their dogs feeling that these foods are better fro their dog than are the commercially sold dog brands sold by most grocery stores. |

The raw food diet has been around since the early 1900s, having gone in and out of popularity. A person who subscribes to a raw food diet is called a raw foodist, as this person believes that raw foods yield more benefits to health than do cooked and processed foods. A philosophy of a person who believes in the raw food diet is that raw foods can prevent and also treat a variety of chronic health diseases and disorders. No research to date has proven or disproven the raw food diet although many people say there are dangers to eating uncooked food, even for animals.
No matter whether you choose a raw food diet always seek to live a healthy life, in regards to eating, exercise, rest and keeping levels of stress under control. Healthy living also means getting enough sleep as lack of sleep often causes the body to overcompensate in other areas and this could mean eating far too much during the daytime. A lack of rest can also disable the immune system so viruses are more likely to find their way into your body. Healthy living also takes into account physical activity and how you get it is not important, just make sure you keep active on a daily basis. |
