Diet By Food Group
Dieting can seem so complicated – counting calories, fat grams, protein, sugar, vitamins, fiber, carbohydrates and water content. Some dieters have turned to a simpler form of dieting, eliminating or restricting certain food groups. Low Carb Or No Carb Carbohydrate restriction is rather common throughout the dieting world. While a diet by food group that restricts carbs to under 50 grams a day can be considered low carbohydrate, a true low-carb diet is under 30 grams per day. A no-carb diet restricts carbohydrates to less than 5 grams per day. Meat and ldark green leafy vegetables make up the majority of low carb and no carb diets. Dairy, fruits and most definitely starches like cereal, bread and rice are strictly controlled or eliminated altogether. Low carb diets are very often referred to as high-protein diets. |

Fruit And Vegetable Laden Diets
“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”, or so the old saying goes. There are dozens of food plans that are heavy in fruits and vegetables, light on starch and protein. A diet by good group that is full of fruit and vegetables is often recommended for those with high blood pressure, high cancer risk, elevated cholesterol, gastrointestinal problems, cardiovascular disease and those that are obese or overweight. Many doctors recommend eating five to ten servings of fruit and veggies each day to help maintain good health and a slimmer waistline when they suggest a diet by food group fruit and vegetable. Some diets recommend eating fruits only in the morning and vegetables only after the noon hour. The Juice Plus+ Diet promotes taking their fruit supplement along with eating fruit and a limited amount of carbohydrates and protein for breakfast. Lunch includes fruit and vegetables along with a serving of protein. Another supplement, this time concentrated vegetable juices, is taken just before dinner. The evening meal includes multiple servings of vegetables and a serving of protein. Dairy Rich Everyone’s seen the “got milk?” commercials and advertisements. In addition to the benefit of strong teeth and bones, the added calcium and protein are said to be wonderful for dieting. A general rule for those that believe in the power of milk is 24 in 24. That motto recommends drinking 24 ounces of milk or eating 24 ounces of yogurt every 24 hours. Ice cream, frozen yogurt, cottage cheese and regular cheese are all counted toward the 24 in 24 diet motto. A diet by food group dairy is compatible with a number of other diets, including low carb, high carb and vegetarian (but not vegan.) High Carb Diets Nearly everyone has heard of a low carb diet, but how many know of the numerous high carb diets on the market? The Bread for Life Diet recommends 12 slices of bread per day for women and 16 per day for men. The author of the book claims the high fiber content in bread (wheat bread, not the white Wonder) help boost serotonin levels. A diet by food group starch should be monitored carefully to make sure it’s effective. |
